Racks Racks Racks
I’ve made a lot of racks over the years. I take a lot of pride in them. Racks are not easy! And I know a lot of frame builders that wont make them. Many of them have told me that it takes them as long to make a rack set as it does to make a frame! I don’t find that to be the case, but they can probably make frames a lot faster than I can. Racks are hard fiddly little things, and I’ve waisted a lot of money on tubing figuring them out and getting them just right! So many small bends and joints, and they have to sit just right. They’re an art all to themselves.
All my racks are made out of 4130 seamless cromo. Usually in ultra thing and light 0.28 wall thickness, or sometimes slightly thicker 0.35 wall for heavy duty stuff like lowriders and porter racks. Usually out of 1/4 inch tubes, or sometimes slightly thicker 3/8th tubes, again, for heavy duty stuff like lowriders and porter. My racks are way lighter and way stronger than anything out else available anywhere in any store.
When I had Norther Cycles I used to keep a few examples of my handmade racks out in the retail area so people could compare them to stock racks from Soma, Surly, and others. They were always shocked and the weight difference and obvious good looks. I can make racks to fit just about any frame or fork and to do just about anything. Including hiding dynamo wiring.
Check them out!
